WCC Aeronautical & Technological College (WCC ATC), in partnership with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Singapore), continued its World Citizen Intelligent Futures Webinar Series with a session titled “Certifying the Future: Engineering eVTOLs Where No Rules Exist” held on May 5, 2026, via Zoom.
The webinar featured Dr. Maurizio Chedid, Adjunct Faculty member of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, as keynote speaker. The session explored the emerging field of electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft and the complex engineering and certification challenges surrounding next-generation air mobility systems.
Dr. Chedid discussed how the rapid evolution of eVTOL technology is reshaping the aviation industry—introducing new possibilities for urban air mobility, sustainable transportation, and autonomous flight systems. He also highlighted the challenges faced by engineers and regulatory bodies in developing certification frameworks for technologies that continue to evolve faster than existing aviation standards.
Participants gained valuable insights into the future of aerospace innovation, including aircraft systems design, safety validation, regulatory adaptation, and the growing role of advanced technologies in redefining air transportation.
The webinar reflects WCC ATC’s commitment to delivering globally relevant and future-focused aviation education through international academic collaboration. By engaging with institutions such as Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University—one of the world’s leading aviation and aerospace universities—WCC ATC continues to expose its students and faculty to emerging industry developments and global expertise.
As aviation enters a new era of intelligent and sustainable mobility, WCC ATC remains committed to preparing future aviation professionals who are ready to navigate technologies, systems, and industries still being shaped in real time.
