WCC ATC Binalonan, in partnership with Advance Aviation Philippines, conducted a technical seminar on pitot-static systems on May 12, 2026, at WCC ATC Cabin Hall to give Avionics students a closer look at aircraft instrument testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance practices.
Among the speakers from Harris Aviation Solutions PH of Advance Aviation Services were Capt. Harris E. Camposagrado, President; Mr. Aldin M. Bautista Jr., Vice President; Mr. Roberto V. Agomo-o, Avionics Technician; Engr. Quer Lhemn P. Ledesma, Quality and Safety Manager; and Mr. Joan T. Tiangson, Maintenance Manager. The speakers introduced the operating principles and applications of a pitot-static tester, including its role in assessing instruments that measure airspeed, altitude, and vertical speed. Through the discussion, students connected concepts learned in the classroom with their application in aircraft inspection and maintenance.
Industry practitioners also demonstrated the operation of the Preston Pressure PS-425 Pitot-Static Tester and PS-425 Hose Kit and discussed the technical standards and responsibilities involved in working with pitot-static systems. The session broadened students’ understanding of the accuracy and attention to detail required in avionics maintenance and safe aircraft operations.
The activity supported SDG 4: Quality Education by complementing classroom instruction with industry-based learning. It also reflected SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through WCC ATC Binalonan’s collaboration with an aviation industry partner.
