On October 21, 2023, the School of International Hospitality Management (SIHM) and the Community Extension Services Office (CESO) of WCC ATC North Manila organized a coastal clean-up in Navotas City. This initiative supported the UN Sustainable Development Goals by focusing on environmental health and community engagement. Volunteers—including students, faculty, and residents—gathered to remove more than 500 kg of waste from the coastline, clearing debris like plastic, abandoned fishing equipment, and other pollutants.
The day began with a safety briefing and distribution of gloves, trash bags, and cleaning supplies. Local environmental advocates provided educational workshops to raise awareness about the effects of pollution on marine life and alternatives to single-use plastics. Community members and students developed a shared sense of responsibility toward environmental conservation by participating in this event. WCC ATC North Manila remains committed to similar projects, aiming to inspire ongoing environmental stewardship within local communities.
