iHANDA: Disaster Preparedness Framework for Barangay 96

Launched on May 22, 2024, the Community Extension Services Office (CESO) and the College of Information Technology of WCC ATC North Manila introduced the iHANDA Framework, an innovative disaster preparedness project. This initiative includes a Barangay Management Information System (BMIS) and a mobile app for early warning alerts, service requests, and disaster response to improve disaster readiness in Barangay 96, Caloocan City.

Through a web-based BMIS, barangay officials can manage resident information, handle documentation, and track critical data for efficient disaster response. The mobile app enables residents to report incidents and access services, reducing wait times and enhancing community participation. Training workshops equipped local officials with the skills to maximize these tools, demonstrating WCC ATC’s commitment to fostering resilient, technology-enabled communities.
