WCC ATC students gained an industry perspective on the procedures, coordination, and safety practices involved in aircraft ground operations during a seminar held at the WCC ATC Cabin Hall on May 13, 2026.
The seminar brought together students from BS Aircraft Maintenance Technology, BS Avionics Technology, and BS Aeronautical Engineering.
Led by Mr. Wens Zaren Duron, Technical Instructor from Dornier Academy, the discussion covered aircraft marshalling, operational safety, and the responsibilities of ground personnel in supporting the safe and orderly movement of aircraft. Duron also explained how coordination among ground teams contributes to efficient operations before departure and upon arrival.
By connecting classroom concepts with current aviation practices, the seminar broadened students’ understanding of ground-handling operations and the precision, discipline, and communication expected of professionals in the field.
The activity supported SDG 4: Quality Education by complementing classroom instruction with industry-based learning relevant to students’ future aviation careers.
