A total of 106 reusable bags containing relief assistance were distributed to families from the B’laan community in Purok Aspang, Barangay San Jose, General Santos City, on June 29, 2026, following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck southern Mindanao on June 8, 2026. The relief effort was carried out through Piso Para sa Kapwa Pilipino, a donation drive organized by the WCC ATC Avionics Society, one of the campus’s student body organizations.
The campaign raised ₱18,470.12, which funded the relief bags containing rice, coffee, milk, sardines, instant noodles, biscuits, and other basic food supplies.
The relief distribution was carried out through the combined efforts of the WCC Avionics Society, Kehyanve Keith Quines, a third-year BS Avionics Technology student, and her family, who served as the primary link between WCC ATC and the community, along with individuals who contributed to the campaign. Their support helped provide immediate food assistance to members of the community as they dealt with the effects of the earthquake.
The initiative supported SDG 2: Zero Hunger by responding to the immediate food needs of affected families. It also demonstrated how student-led fundraising and community participation can mobilize timely assistance following a disaster.
