Aircraft Servicing Virtual Reality Ground Operation Training

The BS Aircraft Maintenance Technology Department at WCC ATC has developed a cutting- edge VR-based training program designed to enhance student learning and safety in ground operations.

This innovative program simulates the WCC Airport environment using a Cessna 172 aircraft, providing students with a realistic and immersive experience.

By utilizing VR technology, the program aims to prevent accidents and provide a safer alternative to traditional training methods. It focuses on critical ground operations, including marshaling, refueling, and servicing aircraft. This immersive approach allows students to practice these skills in a controlled environment without the risks associated with real-world operations.

The VR-based training program not only benefits students but also improves instruction and demonstration for aviation instructors. By providing a visual and interactive learning experience, the program enhances understanding and retention of key concepts.

As a result of this accomplishment, the BS AMT Department has proudly secured a Top 5 ranking in the Generative AI Category of the WURI 2024 ranking. This recognition highlights the department's commitment to excellence and its dedication to pushing the boundaries of aviation education.
