In the near future, you may need to go to an aviation school when you are learning to drive a car. Why? Flying cars might be the new normal by then. This and other tech innovations have changed aviation–and our lives–for the better in the past century. There’s no doubt that this will continue through our lifetimes. Here are some of these awesome changes in aviation:
At the Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland, the world’s first flying car has been unveiled. The Dutch firm PAL-V said that the first delivery will be made in 2019.
The two-person vehicle has a top road speed of about a hundred miles per hour. The firm also claimed that it could reach up to 112 mph in the air, with a maximum altitude of about eleven thousand feet.
The ever-trustworthy radar, which was developed in 1886, is still helping air traffic controllers track and locate planes up to 200 miles away. The airlines have wanted to replace it with the more modernized GPS technology, but the radar has been used for decades because of its cheaper maintenance and reliability.
The black box may have been invented back in the 1950s, but they are as essential now as they were back then. This technology helps investigators not only record how a plane crash happened, but also to ensure that the chances of a repeat would be low.
The economically friendly jumbo jets, introduced in the early 1960s, have changed the face of commercial aviation. This huge 400-seat airliner allows airlines to offer cheap tickets, making it possible for almost anyone to fly.
High up there, the air is clear, thin and smooth. A person who jumps on a trampoline and miraculously reached 30,000 feet would come down unconscious.
How do we still breathe up there? A machine made to pressurize air was invented in the 1920s. This technology, called the cabin pressurization, cools and circulates the air inside our planes.
Unmanned aerial vehicles, commonly known as drones, are able to give us instant gratification by delivering our purchases within the day.
This majorly impacts people’s buying choices and frequency. Everything that could be lifted up by a drone would be in our hands after just a few hours.
As time goes on, these aviation technologies would expand and there is no stopping that. Aviation would become a big part of our everyday lives, even more than it is now. For more updates on aviation, you can visit www.wccaviation.com.
