WCC ATC has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Lumad Aero-Solution Co. for the development and academic integration of Garmin-based avionics training systems across its Binalonan, Clark, and North Manila campuses.
Garmin is a globally recognized aviation technology company whose portfolio includes integrated flight decks, navigation and communication systems, flight displays, autopilots, traffic and weather solutions, and other technologies used across general, business, and other aviation markets. Its systems help pilots access and interpret essential flight information through increasingly digital and integrated cockpit environments.
Through the partnership, WCC ATC students will gain academic exposure to Garmin-based technologies through customized training rigs, classroom instruction, laboratory simulations, and student research. Faculty members will likewise undergo technical orientation and systems familiarization to support the effective integration of the technology into instruction.
Serving as the technical bridge between Garmin and WCC ATC is Lumad Aero-Solution Co., an authorized Garmin Aviation dealer and a Philippine aviation solutions provider specializing in aircraft parts, maintenance, repair, and related technical services.
WCC ATC was represented by Dr. Raymond Patrick V. Guico together with Dr. Roger A. Martinez Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Representing the industry partners were Mr. Damian Shanuk, Regional Sales Manager for Asia-Pacific of Garmin; Mr. Jason Espinosa, Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Lumad Aero-Solution Co.; Mr. Gemuel Asido, Avionics Line Maintenance Manager; and Ms. Ayessa Klair Garcia, Avionics Engineer and Technical Sales Representative.
Through this collaboration, WCC ATC continues to bring aviation education closer to current industry technologies—equipping its faculty with relevant technical knowledge and preparing future aviation professionals for the evolving demands of the field.
